First Lines: Ask me...

A strong opening line can make or break your story. Use the first line story prompt to write a short story (or the opening for a novel.)
As always:
Post your story in the comments of this thread.
Once you have posted your story read a few of your peers’ stories and provide feedback on their work.
Feedback:
Say what you liked about the story.
Say what needs to be improved about the story.
Be specific in your feedback.
No general comments like: It's good or this story needs improvement. Let the author know specifically what you liked or didn't like.

Make sure to include your Author Name and a link to your Author Page at the end of your post.
This is a clean site so NO EROTICA!

Start your story with the following opening line…
So, I suppose you want to ask me why I spared your life.
